Welcome to FurCause. By downloading, accessing, or using the FurCause mobile application (the "App") or website at furcause.org (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms").
If you are a parent or legal guardian allowing a child to use the Services, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and your child. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.
These Terms apply to users in the United States only.
FurCause is a mission-driven educational mobile application designed to teach children ages 4–12 about animal behavior, empathy, and responsible care of animals. The Services are provided free of charge as part of our commitment to humane education.
The App is designed for children ages 4–12. Children under the age of 13 may not use the Services without verifiable parental consent as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

All content, features, and functionality of the Services — including text, graphics, characters (including Scout the dog mascot), animations, logos, and software — are owned by FurCause and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or exploit any content from the Services without our prior written consent.
Scout, the FurCause dog mascot, is an original character created for and owned by FurCause. Scout's likeness, animations, and associated character design may not be reproduced, copied, or used outside of the FurCause Services without express written permission.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FURCAUSE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FURCAUSE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
The educational content provided through FurCause is designed to supplement, not replace, direct parental supervision and professional guidance regarding animal behavior and child safety around animals.
The animal behavior and safety content provided through FurCause is intended for general educational purposes for children ages 4–12. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful information:
The Services use Google Firebase for authentication and data storage. Your use of the Services is also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at hello@furcause.org and requesting account deletion.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the Effective Date and, where appropriate, by sending an email notification. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Georgia.
